Get Ready for Eleme Drone Delivery
Eleme has just announced some pretty big news and we are feeling pretty pumped about it. They are going to be using drones to deliver food by the end of the year! Life is about to get pretty freaking sci-fi!
For those of you who have had your head in a bucket for the past year or so Eleme is a food delivery service that operates all over Shanghai. You can often see couriers whizzing around on electric scooters all dressed in blue.
Eleme tested their first drone at the end of September, they set up a course to see how accurately they could make it fly. We don’t think any food has been delivered as of yet but we are hopefully it won’t be far off.
The maximum speed of the drone is 65km per hour and it can carry up to 6kg, at this speed carrying that weight they have a range of around 20km which is pretty big.
Chinese netizens are going pretty nuts over the announcement. Shanghai is just the right sort of city to test this out, with its high density and congested roadways.
They are still working out the kinks, but keep your eyes peeled, there could soon be drones littering the sky with your lunch.
According to their official video, they hope this feature can be launched by the end of this year.
